This C-shaped burnt mound is situated at about 340m OD on the NW bank of a burn running across a broad terrace on the SW side of Shillingland Moor. It measures 7.2m from NE to SW by 4.4m transversely and 0.5m in height, opening out on the SE. Lifting a sod revealed densely-packed cracked stone set in a matrix of black soil.
