For Newbattle Mill see NT36SW 48.00

An early 19th century house situated on the SW side of the Newbattle Railway Viaduct (NT36SW 41) and adjacent to the former Newbattle Mill (NT36SW 48.00). It is set within in its own grounds.

The house is close to the plan shown on the 1st Editions of the OS 6-inch and 25-inch maps (Edinburghshire, 1854), but has been altered at a later date. It is a two storey with slated roof and further storeys and bays have been added to the NW elevation. A conservatory has been also added to the front elevation.

Depicted on the 1st Edition of the OS 6-inch map and annotated on the 2nd Edition 1890 as 'Glenesk'. It was the house occupied by the Craig family who owned the Newbattle Mill.
