All that remains of this farmstead, which is shown roofed on both the first and the second edition of the OS 6-inch map (Banffshire 1872, xix; 1905, xix SW), is one building and an enclosure. The maps show a further two buildings to the NE and a mill dam and another building to the SE. The Name Book describes the farmstead as a 'farmhouse with outbuildings and a small garden' (Name Book 1869). This is one of about twenty farms and crofts shown on the first edition OS 6-inch map on the hill to the E of Kininvie; with the exception of Stockley (NJ 330 444) and Brawlands (NJ 338 438), there is little evidence of the rest on earlier county maps (Robertson 1822; Thomson 1831).
