Proposal to build a new Church.
Letter from John Maxwell, factor. It concerns the business discussed at a meeting of the Presbytery.
The old Kirk is too small and the walls are bad. Mr Craik produced a plan for a new kirk with a gallery upon the West end and John Maxwell hopes Mr Oswald will meet Mr Craik to discuss this plan. Meanwhile he will obtain estimates on a plan agreeing in part with Mr Craik's.

He informs Mr Oswald that Mr Craik is now drawing a plan for an entire new church. The plan and estimate will be forwarded when it is finished.
