Duchess Bridge [NAT]

OS 1:10,000 map, 1983.

Duchess Bridge: a cast-iron footbridge over the Esk, designed by William Keir, junior, and erected in 1813. Elegant lattice-girdered segmental span, the railings of the balustrades tied down by iron scrolls to the projecting deck.

This bridge carries an estate footpath across the River Esk to the S of Langholm Lodge (NY38NE 31.00).
