NY17SE 4.1 166 726.

(NY 166 726) A massive socketed cross-base lies at the side of the churchyard wall, in the field to the E. It measures 3 ft 8 ins by 2 ft 9 ins, with the socket 7 ins square and 5 ins deep. It recalls the sockets found in situ at the Anglian monastery of Whitby (C A R Radford 1954). It was probably dislodged by the plough and moved to its present position to be out of the way.

RCAHMS 1920, visited 1915.
