OS 1:10,000 map, 1981.

NX65NE 25.01 NX 68221 55183 Weir

(Location cited as NX 683 552). Kempleton Mill, built 1785. A 2- and 3-storey rubble building with an internal low-breast, wood and iron wheel 3ft 4ins (1.01m) wide by 12ft (3.66m) diameter, driving three pairs of stones.

J R Hume 1976.

Although noted on OS historical maps, this mill is not apparent on the current edition of the OS (GIS) MasterMap. It has apparently been demolished since 1975/6, when it was described by Hume and photographed by RCAHMS.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 31 July 2009.

NMRS, KBR 7/1; J R Hume 1976.
