An Iron Age bronze terret ring is preserved in the vestry of Coldingham Priory (NT96NW 11), along with a label dated 1853, stating that it was found in the Barrack garden at Eyemouth, 14ft above and 38ft from high water mark.
National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) card undated.
(NT 9418 6463) Both authorities refer to a terret of 'Donside' type, from Eyemouth, which probably dates to the late 2nd century AD (J N G Ritchie and A Ritchie 1972) Livens states that it was found on the site of the coastguard station on the W side of Eyemouth Bay.
