NT73SW 10 7093 3173.

A short cist was exposed by the plough in April, 1932, about a quarter of a mile from Heiton Mill farmhouse near the top of rising ground, and about a 100yds. from the River Tweed's South bank. It contained a Food Vessel and the the remains of an inhumation. The Food Vessel is the National Museum Antiquities of Scotland.

A J H Edwards 1933.

Heiton Mill around 100 yards south of the River Teviot, not the Tweed.

Information from searchroom visitor 12 June 2009

The owner of the property informs me that the cist was unearthed at NT 7093 3173. After examination the human remains were replaced and the cist re-buried in situ.

There are no remains on the surface.
