Information from Historic Scotland, scheduling document dated 31 January 1994.

This palisaded settlement is situated on level ground above and to the NW of Dunglass Dean, about 400m SSE of Springfield and has been recorded as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP 1986, 2004),. The settlement is oval on plan measuring about 50m from NW to SE by 40m transversely. The position of the entrance is uncertain. Cropmarking in the interior suggests the presence of at least one round house.
