Langholm barracks or military camp occupied Castle Holm on the E bank of the River Esk. The extents of the camp are visible on the RAF vertical aerial photographs (106/G/UK414 frames 4047-8, 19 June 1945) and RAF oblique photographs (F309, frames 5062-5, 26 June 1941).
