Information from Historic Scotland, scheduling document dated 14 October 1993.

This enclosure had been recorded as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP 1979, 1980, 1990, 1992, 2000) immediately S of Pencaitland Maltings. The enclosure had probably been circular in plan but is overlain on the N by a disused railway and Pencaitland Maltings (NT46NW 69).
