A small Roman camp was observed from the air in 1977 by CUCAP about 800m E of Dere Street, and to the NW of Fala, in Midlothian, on a tongue of land that slopes gently SSE from a crest line near the NW side of the camp. The whole of the short NE side, nearly a third of the SW side, most of the NW, together with a quarter of the NE, and the rounded S, W and N angles have been recorded so far. There is a difference of about 9 degrees in the alignment of the SE and NW sides. The axial dimensions are about 205m by 132m, an area of 2.8 ha (6.7 acres).

G S Maxwell and D R Wilson 1987.
