NM64NW 8018 unlocated

NLO: Sound of Mull [name centred NM 58 46].

Tobermory, 30th Jan. 'The PROVIDENCE, Wilson, hence to the Clyde, is ashore in the Sound of Mull.'

Source: The Marine List, LL, No. 9642, London, Thursday February 6 1845.

NMRS, MS/829/71 (no. 7935).

The map sheet assigned to this record is arbitrary and the loss may have taken place on the SW (Mull) side of the Sounds, within the quasi-administrative area defined as Maritime - Argyll and Bute.

The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), suggesting that she was successfully refloated.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 8 March 2004.
