(Location cited as NT 360 371). Ballantyne's Mill, founded 1855. A large complex of buildings, the oldest of which appears to be a four-storey, 8-bay block with a castellated clock tower. The rest are mainly two storeys in height. There is a fine octagonal brick chimney with a flared top.

Tweedvale Mills [NAT] (at NT 3607 3704)

Henry Ballantyne of Galashiels founded the Tweedvale Mill in 1855 for the production of wollen cloth. Tweedholm Mill, established by Robert Frier, also of Galashiels, established Tweedholm Mill in 1859, together with housing for the mill workers. The mills combined (as Tweddvale Mills) in 1918.
