NT16NE 24 c. 178 656

;On the lands of Harelaw, near the present farm house (at NT 178 656) there was an immense cairn of stones, consisting of probably between 200 or 300 cart-loads, which, on being gradually removed by the late Mr Cunningham of Harelaw, was found to contain a stone about 2' square, enclosing many human bones'. A 'stone coffin of ordinary size' was ploughed up in the same field; it only contained 'a piece of broken earthenware.'

NSA 1845 (T Barclay).
