NT04NE 10 060 456.

A bronze ball, of Iron Age date (exhibit card in National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland), from Walston (NT 060 456), formerly an item in the Sim collection, was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) in 1882 (Accession no: AS 39). It measures 1 1/2 ins in diameter.

Proc Soc Antiq Scot 1882

Listed among Iron Age metalwork finds. The affinities of this ball are uncertain, the tripartite coils ending in birds' heads being without parallel in Celtic metalwork (M Macgregor 1976).
