NT03NE 16 0976 3925 to 0978 3926.

(NT 097 392) About 300 yds ESE of Broughtonknowe farm, and at a height of 1050ft OD, there is a group of three barrows situated immediately S of a wire fence which bounds the S side of a cultivated field. The westernmost barrow measures 12ft in diameter and 9ins in height and is surrounded by a shallow ditch, 2ft 6ins in width and 6ins in depth, which has a slight counterscarp bank 4ft thick and 9ins high. The second barrow, which is crossed by the wire fence, lies 20ft to the NE. It is 9ft in diameter and 9ins in height, and is enclosed by a ditch 2ft wide and 6ins deep with a counterscarp bank 4ft thick and 9ins high. The third example, which is situated 35 yds further to the E, measures 10ft in diameter and one foot in height. The ditch is completely filled up, but its presence was indicated at the time of visit by a vegetation mark 4ft in width.

NT 0978 3926: Of the second barrow, only the ditch survives. The third barrow, could not be identified.
