An area of rig-and-furrow is visible in pasture on a terrace at the W end of Lawel Hill, some 210m NE of Old Bourtie farmsteading (NJ72SE 119). The rigs, which measure about 5m in breadth and 0.3m in height, are aligned N and S. They display evidence of two phases of cultivation, in the later of which every second rig was reduced in height.

Visited by RCAHMS (JRS, IF), 21 March 1996.
