NS57SW 12 c. 507 722.
A distance slab of the Sixth Legion was found in 1812 on Braidfield farm (NS 500 720) about 1/2 mile SE of Duntocher fort (NS47SE 12). It measures 3'10 1/2" x 2'6", and the distance given upon it is 3,240 Roman feet which would place its original site at a spot 500 or 600 yds NE of Braidfield farmhouse, i.e. in the third field on the left hand side of the road going westwards from Cleddans farm, about 375 or 400 yds beyond the steading. (This would place it in the area centred NS 5070 7228.) Measuring 3'10 1/2" x 2'6", its inscription reads: "IMP.C.T. AELIO.HADRIANO.ANTONINO.AVG.P.P.LEG.VI.VICTRICS.P.F.OPVS. VALLI.P.XXXCCXL.F".
It is now in the Hunterian Museum, Glasgow.
