North Woodside Flint Mill, 125 Garriochmill Road, built 1846 for Kidston, Cochran and Co. The ruins of a single storey mill and drying shed, demolished c. 1964. The most substantial survivals are the square tapering kiln of stone and brick, the upper part of which is encased in concrete, and the weir and lade which supplied water to the wood and iron internal undershot wheel. When complete, the mill was SDD listed (category C).
J R Hume 1974.
The 1972 edition of the OS 1:1250 map notes the mill lade (NS56NE 105.03) and associated sluices. A gap in the lade (around NS 5732 6733) presumably indicates the former location of the mill.
