This kelp kiln is set on shelf above high water mark at the S end of Eilean Chathastail. Roughly rectangular on plan, it measures 3.7m in length by1.7m in breadth within banks that are little more than lines of large stones up to 0.2m high. This kiln is similar to another example at the N end of the island, described under NM48SE 61.
