The remains of a Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit camp were recorded here during a detailed archaeological survey of Strathmashie Community Forest near Laggan, Highland. The remains consist of two concrete slab bases (10m x 5m and 4m x 3m), grassy knolls, five pits and a variety of pipes and wire protruding from the surface. There is also a collection of metal bolts, pins and wood, relating to forest machinery. The survey was carried out to assess the evidence for past human use and to ascertain whether there was enough archaeology to develop a heritage trail in the forest.
