ND36SE 8012 unlocated

NLO: Keiss [name: ND 347 612]

Sinclair's Bay [name centred ND 36 56].

Wick, 30th Dec., a board marked 'WONDER, Blyth', has washed ashore at Keiss, also the lid of a chest, with two union jacks painted on it, a lifebuoy, a plank of a boat, of about 24 feet in length, some pieces of timber, &c.

Source: Shipping Intelligence, LL, No. 18,316, London, Thursday January 2 [1873].

NMRS, MS/829/69 (no. 3896).

(No classification or cargo specified: date of loss cited as 30 December 1872). Wonder: headboard and wreckage found at Keiss. Registration: Blyth.

(Location cited as N58 32.0 W3 7.0).

I G Whittaker 1998.

The map sheet assigned to this record is arbitrary, being derived from the reported location of discovery of wreckage. The date cited is presumably that of report, rather than loss. The vessel presumably foundered out at sea, probably beyond Scottish waters.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 10 August 2004.
