NR86NE 6 8637 6845.

Local tradition holds that the present burial-ground supersedes an earlier one at Glenakil (NR86NE 2) from which tombstones were removed at the beginning of the 18th century. In the MacAlister burial-enclosure there is recumbent tombstone which can be ascribed to the first half of the 16th century. There are no other tombstones recognisably belonging to the period before 1707. Other, later 18th century tombstones are described.

RCAHMS 1971, visited 1967.
