Architect T S Tait F.R.I.B.A. one of two pavilions devoted to the life and art of Scotland. Surrounded by terraced walls; patterned after 'North Country' dykes. A many-windowed tower, c.40m (120ft) high. Within the entrance hall stood a large statue of St Andrew, some c.8m (25ft) high and large murals illustrating Scottish sport throughout the ages lined the inner walls.
