This quarry, which is situated about 70m SE of Thrumster Church, measures up to 2.5m in depth, but it was largely obscured by rank gorse and trees on the date of visit and its exact dimensions could not be recorded. However, the quarry is depicted on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix; 1907, sheet xxix), which show a pit measuring about 60m from NE to SW by 55m transversely.
