NO88NW 15 802 877 to 806 877

Situated 360m SE of Clochanshiels farmhouse, at the W end of a loose group of at least sixty-five small cairns and several stony banks, there is a hut-circle (NO 8028 8771) measuring about 9m in diameter with a wall up to 1.5m thick and 0.4m high. On the downhill side the wall has been placed on the edge of an artificial platform up to 0.6m high, but there is little to suggest that the interior of the hut-circle has been dug into the slope on the uphill side. The cairns, which are scattered over an area of about 6ha, measure up to 3m in diameter and 0.5m in height. At two places among them are roughly parallel rickles of stones set 3m to 10m apart, at least three occurring on the W(NO 804 877) aligned NNW-SSE, and six on the E (NO 805 876), aligned NE-SW.
