NS56NE 4880 c. 5705 6631

For successor New Park Footbridge (NS 57053 66311), see NS56NE 1078.

Old Park Footbridge: this simple low-level four-span wooden bridge was constructed in the 1890's. It was prone to blockage and flooding, and was replaced around 1964 by the New Park Footbridge (NS56NE 1078).

D Boyce 1996.

This bridge formerly carried a footpath across the River Kelvin within the area of Kelvingrove Park (NS56NE 328). The river here forms the boundary between the parishes of Govan (to the W) and Glasgow (to the E).

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 5 December 2005.
