Small oil tank farm with at least 24 large oil tanks was situated on the N bank of the River Clyde immediately W of Bowling. The Oil tanks and associated buildings occupied an area of about 26 hectares.

The group of oil tanks SE of the Dunglass Basin were constructed before or during the Second World War, those to the NW some time after 1946.

All tanks have now been removed and the site cleared.
