A number of quarry workings were recorded here as part of an archaeological evaluation ahead of a road re-alignment in the area. The smallest quarry pit was 5m x 3m x 0.7m and the largest 13m x 12m x 1.2m. The pits were largely filled with silty sand and field clearance stones. Some glazed ceramic and green glass shards were found in some of the pit fills, dating to the 18th and 19th centuries.
