Shieling, Carnan Dubha: The remains of what was probably a two-chambered shieling-hut stand on the NW shoulder of Carnan Dubha at an altitude of approximately 60m OD. The wall sgenerally survive as turf-covered foundations, but an intercommunicating doorway between the two chambers incorporates massive slabs which are set on end and stand to a height of about 1m. The two chambers are of sub-circular plan, each measuring about 5m in maximum length from N to S within walls approximately 1m in average thickness. The intercommunicating doorway is 0.8m wide and there is an entrance 0.6m wide in the NE sector of the E chamber.

RCAHMS 1980, visited 1975.
