NLO: Am Balg [name: NC 185 662]

Cape Wrath [name: NC 256 750].

(Classified as sloop, with cargo of tar and butter: date of loss cited as 20 October 1845). Unknown: this vessel was wrecked near Bulzie Island, nine miles South of Cape Wrath. 55 tons burthern.

(Location of loss cited as N58 32.50 W5 8.0).

I G Whittaker 1998.

The location assigned to this record are essentially tentative. Bulzie Island is not noted as such on the 1997 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map, but is presumably to be equated with one of the group of skerries known as Am Balg.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 15 June 2008.
