The SW dispersal area is visible on RAF WW II vertical air photographs (NLA 68, 4090-4091, flown 27 August 1943), immediately E of a small wood, now removed, annotated as the 'Randerston Ovals' on the OS 1:1:1000 scale map (1976).

Visible are four blister type aircraft hangars all with concrete trackways leading to them and at least eight huts and buildings.

The concrete trackways are depicted on the OS 1979 map (ibid), but are not visible on vertical air photogrpahs taken in 1988 (All Scotland Survey, 50788, 226-227, flown 10 June 1988).
