A large harled concrete and steel building on the N side of the A9 at the junction with a minor road to Rhicullen. The interior is now empty, but several engine mounting beds and inspection pits survive. This was once the pumping station for an oil pipeline from underground oil tanks to the N to Invergordon Naval Base.

Visited by RCAHMS (DE) January 1997

This pumping station is situated at the NW corner of the cross-roads at Tomich. It is a large white-painted concrete and brick building with a steel fence surrounding it. The building is on the line of the oil pipeline from Inchindown oil storage tanks to Invergordon.

J Guy 2000; NMRS MS 810/10, Vol.1, 108, Vol.3, 37

The pumping station has, since the visit in 1997 and 1999, been purchased and large scale building work carried out on the interior of the building. It is not known what internal alterations have been carried out.

Visited by RCAHMS (DE), August 2000
