This well is situated in rough pasture about 75m S of the remains of an abandoned farmstead ND34NW 69. It comprises a grass- and rush-grown hollow measuring 9m from NE to SW by 7.8m transversely and up to 1.2m in depth, which is now partly filled with rubbish. The well is depicted on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix; 1907, sheet xxix) as well as the modern 1:10,000 map (1975).
