NF60SE 26 unlocated.

A large bone comb, formerly in the collections of Mrs McNeill, Newton House, Lochmaddy, and H H Mackenzie, factor of the North Uist estates, is now in the Royal Museum of Scotland (RMS, formerly the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland [NMAS]) (GT 1019). It is probably that mentioned in 1888 as having been 'found in a stone cist on the island of Barra'; and may have come from an otherwise unrecorded Viking grave.

International Exhibation, Glasgow 1888; J Close-Brooks and S Maxwell 1975.
