(ND 114 561) Site of Conflict between the Clans Gunn & Keith and Mackay AD 1426 (NAT)

A battle between the clans Gunn, Keith and Mackay, the latter supporting the Keiths, was fought here in 1426. Nothing is known about the engagement, but it is believed that the Clan Gunn had the worst of it, from the fact that the chief of the Mackays was taken before the king at Inverness, for outrages committed on that clan.
