A dummy heavy anti-aircraft battery has been identified from a RAF vertical air photograph, (LEU/UK 12, 7029, flown 9 May 1949), in the E corner of the field which is also the site of the accommodation camp for the genuine gun site. Four earth banked emplacements and a command centre are visible on the photograph. Only slght traces of the emplacements were noted on the date of visit (and on RCAHMS oblique aerial photograph D 14028), but the earthwork remains of the dummy command position are still visible near the E corner of the field and on RCAHMS oblique air photographs taken in 1997.

Visited by RCAHMS (DE), August 1996
