(NC 8913 5554) Stone Cist found AD 1840 (NAT)

OS 6" map, (1963).

Mr MacDonald (D MacDonald, Achivullin) found a stone coffin containing an urn and human remains in or about 1840, while removing a heap of stones before cultivating the land. The coffin was only about 3ft in length and 2ft in breadth. Part of a skull and "human dust" was found in the urn.

OS Name Book 1873.
