Not to be confused with Alloa Station (North British Rly), situated N of the river at NS 88693 93109, for which see NS89SE 172.

This terminal station on the branch line (from Airth) of the former Caledonian Rly was opened (by the Scottiosh Central Rly) on 12 September 1850. It was renamed South Alloa Station in January 1854, and closed to regular passenger traffic on 1 October 1885. Both line and station remained open to goods traffic for a lengthy period thereafter.
