NO43SW 1002.04 40617 30066

Formerly entered as NO43SW 745 under site-name Dundee, Telford Light.

Lighthouse (Fixed Red) [NAT]

OS GIS ep. 2.

L Twr (dis) [NAT]

OS (GIS) AIB, April 2006.

(Dundee 1: location cited as NO 406 301). Originally at entrance to King William IV Dock, now in traffic island: c. 1830. Cylindrical masonry tower with corbelled and crenellated gallery. Cylindrical lantern with long vertical panes and domed top. Disused.

J R Hume 1997.

This light is recorded (GIS ep. 2) as standing on the quay between King William IV Dock (NO43SW 1002.00) and the Tidal Harbour (NO43SW 1001.00). Both these docks have been infilled as part of the extensive redevelopment works at the N approach to the Tay Road Bridge (NO42NW 75). The available (GIS) map evidence indicates that this beacon has been retained in its original location.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 18 April 2006.
