"Paisley (Gilmour Street) Station...built c 1840 for the Glasgow & Paisley Joint Railway, and extended in c 1890. A 4-platform through station, raised on masonry arches. The main offices are in the original 2-storey, 10-bay castellated building on the down side. The platforms are covered for most of their length by glazed awnings supported by latticed trusses, of which alternate ones run from wall to wall with a central cast-iron support. The platform buldings are wooden, on sandstone bases."

JR Hume 1976

Following recent refurbishment work to Gilmour Street Railway Station, this RCAHMS photographic survey was undertaken in order that the new and gleaming paintwork could be catch at its best.

Visited by RCAHMS(MKO), December 1997.
