HY22NW 23 2434 2839.

Spread of stones, 6m long and 0.5m high, on natural clay, close to Wainwright's excavation of 1960. A layer of sand spreads across to the stones from the E. It is not possible to be certain whether or not this is a revetment for the backfilling of the 1960 excavations. To the E by 1982 an additional 2m stretch of stones was visible, due to erosion. (Grid reference of HY 2434 2839 given by Morris and topographical description do not agree, Wainwright's excavation - HY22NW 12 - being at HY 2428 2839.)

C D Morris 1989.
