NT 3210 7340 A programme of archaeological works was conducted 28–29 September 2010 on the site of the former salt pan works at Joppa, following the collapse of the NW corner of the sea wall. Information provided by a desk-based assessment and geophysical survey was used to determine the placement of six evaluation trenches. The trenches revealed a number of wall foundations and a poorly preserved water tank rubble wall close to the N end of the site. Unfortunately no floor surfaces were revealed and no artefacts associated with the salt pan works were recovered.
