Field visit, sketch and photograph.

At the N end of Loch Fada, on top of a small hill (c150m OD) to the E of the weir, is a circular structure measuring c14m in external diameter. The wall is measurable only at a small part on the NE quarter where it is c1.0m wide. Within it, close to the W quarter, there appears to be a rectangular structure, aligned approximately E-W, which measures 4.0m x 3.5m over walls 0.7m thick. The vegetation is rough grazing and rushes.

An aerial photo of 1946 (RCHAMS' vertical aerial photography RAF BO125_1239) appears to show a rectangular structure, aligned approximately E-W, possibly in 3 equal sections. In an aerial photo of 1961 (RCAHMS’ vertical aerial photography RAF BO557F21_11), there appears to be circular structure on the site.

Information from SRP Storr Lochs, July 2011.
