A roofed cottage (NG 2696 0455), the remains of three rectangular buildings, an enclosure and two concrete platforms lie above the shoreline overlooking the large tidal bay on the N side of Sanday. The largest of the buildings (NG 2700 0455) measures 10.3m from N to S by 3.8m transversely within faced rubble walls 1.3m in thickness and 0.6m in height. This building has been set end-on into the slope and there is a mooring ring visible at its N end. The two concrete platforms are probably no more than the foundations of Nissen huts. The enclosure (NG 2698 0455) lies immediately to the E of the smallest building and is trapezoidal on plan, measuring a maximum of 13.4m by 8.5m.

Four roofed buildings are shown at roughly this location on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Argyllshire, 1881, sheet lix), while a splayed L-shaped range is depicted on an estate map of 1805.

(Canna 70-76).
