Walking the site at varying states of the tide: photographs.

In the bay in front of the fisherman's bothy there are the remains of a line of stones between two skerries which looks as if it has changed little since Erskine Beveridge took a photograph of it in 1883. As the tide falls the water remains in the north-east corner. Usually thought of as a fish trap I am reliably told that, although such stuctures are not uncommon on the west coast of Scotland, their purpose remains a mystery.
