Bronze high-relief map, set into a raised stone rectangle, showing part of Edinburgh city centre from Lothian Road (in the west) to Regent Road (in the east), York Place and Queen Street (in the north) and Cowgate (in the south); including Calton Hill, Waverley Station, Princes Street Gardens and the Castle.

On plaque set into the top of the stone rectangular base, on the north side (raised letters): [Braille] / PRESENTED TO THE CITY OF EDINBURGH / BY THE STAFF OF MARKS & SPENCER, / EDINBURGH IN 1984 TO MARK THE COMPANY'S CENTENARY. / THIS RELIEF WAS CRAFTED TO ENABLE / PEOPLE WITH IMPAIRED VISION TO / ENJOY THE GRANDEUR OF THE CITY.
