Coat of arms composed of a shield carved with a lion rampant on a fess chequy (top left), three garbs [sheaves] (bottom left), and a lion rampant on a saltire (right). A border around the shield is decorated with mullets [stars]. Above the shield is a griffin (left) and a helmeted female head (right). Below the shield is a ribbon careved with the an inscription.

Coat of arms of Daniel Stewart's and Melville College. As originally carved the shield's inner edge was scalloped, but this was removed before the opening since this element belonged to the former pupils' club coat of arms.
